Absolutely agree. 3rd party and indie really saved this gen.
Honestly, expedition 33 is a prime example of quality for the low. Expedition 33 launched at 50$, and that game gave me more fun than most 60-70$ games I’ve purchased within the last decade.
Lol so rich people want to speak for my wallet now? I still haven’t adapted to 70$ yet, and not planing on to. I don’t mind waiting on sales.
If next gen consoles are going to cost 3 lives and a kitten sacrifice can we at least get full backwards compatibility? This right here shows that they could profit even harder if they do so.
Played my part as well. I was probably the first person in my city to buy it. Soon as the shop opened I went to get it.
I’m hoping FF17 is like this, especially with the world map. It’s so OG FF it’s unreal. It’s one of my fav RPGs of all time right now. I’m impressed with really nothing negative to say about the game.
Hopefully we get more high budget RPGs like this one. I would love to see Sony start making turned based RPG exclusives again like the goo...

Lol well I got the Suikoden game launch day. I also got E33 launch, yesterday, April 24th 2025. I went into gamestop(which I never shop at) and saw a long line of people and didn’t know what was going on. Long story short, found out the line was for the switch 2 pre orders, I had to wait behind 60 people just to buy Expedition 33, so I was like, may as well pre order the switch 2 as well smh. Ain’t gunna lie, resale purposes only if my niece doesn’t want it lol.
Always had a place in the industry. Unfortunately RPGs as a whole were getting over looked by big territories like US and EU due to the FPS/call of duty phase in gen 7-8. People became twitchy and wanted fast action, but the original fans of turned based was always there, just slightly neglected. I’ve been saying Lost odyssey was a blueprint for modern turned based RPGs.
This is one of my most anticipated, and I’m hoping it lives up to expectations. Hoping it has a normal leveling system and not just a skill tree.

Absolutely! This is saddening. Especially from a family friendly company as Nintendo. I’m guessing all the DLC season passes devs throw down our throats doesn’t cover the cost of anything.
At this rate, DLC should be free! Also, I don’t want to see hardly any patches. Day one patches should be unacceptable.

Maybe a stretch, but the portal is a streaming device though. We’re talking about a full blown console you’re paying over 400$ for. Don’t think you should settle for less at that equation.
Agreed! There was no purpose to leaving out OLED! The switch is already the price of current gen consoles and weaker to say the least!
It’s a money grab for Nintendo at the end of the day because if they really wanted to, just launch 2 SKUs like every other console did…..well, I’m just preparing to be an emulator guy next gen at this rate. I’ll end up missing on so much, gaming is starting to become high tier luxury. Pretty soon we’ll all have to become a top tier streamer...

Are you serious right now? It couldn’t be more evident, from bringing their best IPs over to the competition, to cutting away jobs, cancelling projects, and even making their main focus streaming? How many times does the snake have to bite you in the face, man?
